Protection for inventions: new technical products and processes, defined carefully enough to be enforceable and useful.
A patent gives the holder a time-limited right over an invention. What that right is worth depends almost entirely on how the invention is described and claimed at the time of filing.
DHI IP supports inventors and organisations from the earliest stage, when an idea is assessed against what already exists, through drafting, filing and the examination process that follows.
Where an invention is not yet ready for filing, that is said clearly, along with what would strengthen the position.

Before you file
A patentability assessment and prior-art search establish whether the invention is likely to be new and inventive, and inform how the specification should be framed.
Drafting matters most
The specification and claims define the boundary of the right. Drafting is prepared with the technical detail and the commercial use of the invention in view.
After filing
Examination reports, responses and procedural deadlines are handled as part of prosecution support, with portfolio records maintained over time.
